Your Trusted Mobile Notary Public in Salt Lake City, Utah
Salt Lake City is the easiest major metro in America to dispatch a notary in: the pioneer grid means an address is a set of coordinates, and 1300 East 2100 South tells us the drive time before the car starts. What keeps us busy is the paperwork rhythm of this particular valley: missionary powers of attorney signed before an 18-month departure, estate and temple-trip timing that families want handled respectfully, and a startup corridor pouring south down I-15 through Murray and Draper to the Silicon Slopes edge at the Point of the Mountain, where stock-plan and financing documents move on term-sheet deadlines. We stage Utah-commissioned notaries downtown, in Sugar House, and along the I-15 spine so a bedside signing at LDS Hospital in The Avenues and a Friday closing in Daybreak both get a realistic ETA. From November through February we plan around snow and the inversion the way locals do, with margin built in rather than promised away. Utah caps the notarization at $10 per signature and even ties travel fees to the federal mileage rate, disclosed in advance; that's the law, and it's also just how we operate.

What Salt Lake City Clients Say
Trusted by clients across Salt Lake City, Utah
"Refinanced our Sugar House bungalow and needed everything signed before month-end. The signing agent came after work, knew the Utah certificates cold, and we funded on time. The quote even broke out the mileage like the statute requires. Nice touch."
"My father needed a power of attorney signed in his room at University Hospital. The notary was there within the hour, patient with him, and courteous with the nurses. Made an awful week a little easier."
"Two days before our son's mission farewell we realized we still needed his power of attorney notarized. They came to our house in The Avenues the next evening and had it done in fifteen minutes. Exactly the service we needed that week."
Why Choose Our Mobile Notary in Salt Lake City?
Here's why Salt Lake City residents and businesses keep calling Notary On Demand when they need a mobile notary.
The Grid Is Our Dispatch System
Salt Lake's coordinate addresses make ETAs honest: we know what 700 East to 5600 West actually costs in minutes. We stage notaries downtown, in Sugar House, and down the I-15 corridor and send whoever is genuinely closest to your block.
University Hospital to Primary Children's Bedside Work
Our notaries regularly work patient rooms at University of Utah Hospital and Huntsman up the hill, LDS Hospital in The Avenues, Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, St. Mark's in Millcreek, and Primary Children's. We handle powers of attorney and directives calmly, without rushing anyone.
Missionary Paperwork, Handled Before the Farewell
Powers of attorney for departing missionaries are one of our steadiest Salt Lake requests. They get signed at the kitchen table in the busy week before departure, so parents can handle banking, vehicles, and school records for the next 18 to 24 months.
Silicon Slopes on Term-Sheet Time
The tech corridor from Murray to the Point of the Mountain runs on funding deadlines, not bank hours. We handle stock-purchase, financing, and relocation documents at offices in Draper, Sandy, and by arrangement down to Lehi, same day when the deal demands it.
The $10 Cap and Utah's Mileage Rule, Quoted Straight
Utah caps the notarization at $10 per signature (Utah Code §46-1-12) and caps travel fees at the federal mileage rate, agreed in advance. Your quote shows both lines separately. That's the law in Utah, and the right way to do it anywhere.
Winter Dispatch Built for the Valley
Lake-effect snow, an icy 1300 East, inversion-gray mornings: we plan around Wasatch Front winter instead of canceling for it. You get an ETA that accounts for the roads and a notary who shows up anyway.

Trust & Verification — Salt Lake City, UT
We back every claim on this page with proof. Here's how each one is verified for the Salt Lake City mobile notary team.
How our notaries are vetted
Before a notary takes a single signing for us, we verify each of the items below. We track renewals so coverage never lapses mid-assignment.
- 01
State commission verification
We confirm every notary holds an active commission with their state's commissioning authority before they take a single signing.
- 02
Background check provider & cadence
All notaries are screened by an accredited background check provider at onboarding and re-screened periodically per NNA-aligned standards.
- 03
$1M E&O insurance
Every notarization is backed by $1,000,000 in errors & omissions insurance, well above the typical $25K–$100K minimums most notaries carry.
- 04
Surety bond per state
Each notary carries the surety bond their state requires (amounts vary — for example California requires $15,000) so the public has a financial remedy if a notarial duty is breached.
- 05
NNA certification
All notaries are NNA Certified — they have passed the National Notary Association's certification exam and follow its Code of Professional Responsibility.
- 06
Ongoing training
Notaries in our network complete annual continuing-education refreshers covering statute updates, document categories (POA, deeds, loan signings, apostilles), and identity-fraud red flags so practice keeps pace with current law.
- 07
Renewal cadence
Commissions, bonds, E&O, and background checks are tracked on a calendar so renewals never lapse mid-assignment.

Each headline trust claim we make on the site is paired with a link you can use to verify it independently.

Utah Notary Law — What Salt Lake City Signers Should Know
Every notarization on this page is performed under Utah Code §46-1-1 et seq.. Here's the short version of how Utah notary law affects your appointment.
Fees in Utah
Utah caps the notary fee at $10 per signature or act (acknowledgment, jurat, oath, signature witnessing, or copy certification) under Utah Code §46-1-12, with a $25 cap for remote online notarizations. Utah also regulates travel unusually tightly: a travel fee may not exceed the approved federal mileage rate and must be explained and agreed to in advance, which is exactly how we quote every booking.
Acceptable ID
- Utah driver license or state ID card — valid and unexpired, with photo, signature, and physical description
- Driver license or government-issued photo ID from any other U.S. state, valid and unexpired
- Valid passport issued by any nation
- Note: a Utah driving privilege card does NOT qualify — it is expressly excluded by Utah Code §46-1-2
- The oath of a credible person who is personally known to the notary and personally knows the signer
Witness Rules
Utah wants valid, unexpired ID, and it specifically excludes the driving privilege card, which surprises signers who use one every day. If a signer has no qualifying ID, Utah Code §46-1-2 allows a single credible witness to swear to their identity, but the bar is high: the witness must be personally known to the notary and personally know the signer, which takes coordination. Tell us the ID situation when you book and we'll plan the appointment so nobody signs blind.
Remote Online Notarization (RON)
permittedUtah was one of the country's earliest RON adopters: 2019's H.B. 52 took effect November 1, 2019 (Utah Code §46-1-3.5 and §46-1-3.6), letting Utah-commissioned remote notaries handle documents by audio-video with a $25 capped fee. It works well for simple affidavits; hospital rooms, wet-ink loan packages, and signers without the webcam setup still go in person.
Read our online notary guideWhat a Utah Notary Cannot Do
- •Utah notaries cannot certify copies of birth, death, or marriage certificates — those come from the Utah Office of Vital Records and Statistics.
- •Non-attorney notaries cannot give legal advice or prepare immigration documents — Utah restricts 'notario público' advertising like most western states.
- •We do not notarize blank or incomplete documents, or any document the notary is named in or benefits from.
Informational only — not legal advice. For your situation, consult a licensed Utah attorney.

Where Your Document Goes After Notarization
For deeds and other real-property documents signed in Salt Lake City, notarization is step one — recording is step two. Here's where that happens.
Salt Lake County Recorder's Office
2001 S State St, Suite N1-600, Salt Lake City, UT 84190
Deeds, trust deeds, and other real-property documents for Salt Lake City (and everywhere in the valley from Murray to Draper to the west-side cities) record with the Salt Lake County Recorder at the county government complex on State Street. One county, one recorder, which keeps things simple; documents recorded before 2 p.m. are typically available the next working day, and most title companies e-record directly.
